The Carnet de Passages en Douane (CPD) is an international document that covers the temporary admission of motor vehicles.
CPD is a customs declaration to identify a motor vehicle temporarily imported. The CPD is required in numerous countries all around the world for temporary admission. It allows free movement access to foreign countries.
The Carnet document is valid for one year from the date of issue. The carnet is available either to TACI (Touring and Automobile Club of The Islamic of Iran) Members and non-members resident in Iran or to others who have a car registered in Iran. Others need to apply to the auto club or carnet issuer organization in their country of residence. Foreign passengers, tourists, or Iranians residing abroad are able to import their own motor vehicles for traveling to Iran for 3 months that is extendable. The CPD will allow you to exit and enter the country via allowed borders at different times.
