Sabalan (located in northwest Iran) is a 4811m active volcano and the 3rd highest summit of Iran. There is a magnificent crater lake at its summit occupying an area of 50m by 50m and 15m deep while the peak covered almost all the year by snow. The Sabalan Mountain area is full of hot springs you can enjoy as well while climbing Sabalan Mountain. There are also a few nomadic populations that live in the area in their round tents which is called Your. Visiting these people with their simple life is one of the best reasons for climbing the mountain.
To go Sabalan you need to Go Ardabil, as the journey starts from Ardabil. We will meet you in the morning in your hotel in Ardabil to transfer to hot springs village Shabil (2700m), via Meshgin Shahr road. After some rest and enjoyment from mineral springs, you will transfer to the Hoseiniyeh Shelter (3600m) by 4WD car, (Or you can walk about 5km to the Shelter). The next day is a Day of Victory. You will leave Shelter to conquer the Sabalan peak at the altitude of 4811m. Rest for a while, take some photos near the magnificent lake and descend to Hoseiniyeh Shelter and return to Ardabil to continue your Iran Journey.
