Iran will no longer stamp the passports of the visiting tourists to ease the tourists’ concerns about visiting Iran because of United States sanctions. While the statistics show that the number of foreign tourists visiting Iran has increased by 38% in the first four months, and the number of European visitors shows a slight decline, Iranian Vice President and Head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Ali Asghar Mounesan, announced the passports of foreign tourists visiting Iran will not be stamped.
Foreign tourists from countries that have common land borders with Iran, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, And Armenia as well as those from the US, Canada, the UK, Jordan, Colombia, Somalia, and Bangladesh are not part of the new initiative, meaning that their passports will be stamped.
